The Pub and a Pint
Unbeknownst to some but frequented by the many, the social atmosphere of the pub can be a daunting but somewhat exciting adventure as long as you watch your P’s & Q’s.
Unwinding at the end of the day after toiling for bosses who care not for your benefit but more for what you can produce, always for as little as they can get away with to pay you, is fortunately still legal. Thus a few pints of good brew and conversation can lead to an enjoyable evening if only people would remember to act in a civil manner and leave the politics and religion at home.
Entertainment
If there is anything left to spend at the end of the week, our entertainment budget and a quick pint or two and some non essential conversation and perhaps some football is extremely important and vital to our very existence.
We already know that death and taxes are the only real truths so a trip to the pub and a couple of pints won’t change that reality, but will ease ourselves into a different perspective in which to ponder our day and socialize with our fellow mates.
It is bad enough that we are taxed to the point of no return and that fuel prices are going through the roof. So when we step out to enjoy a few pints, do we really need to worry about the oil companies and all their HPHT drilling projects off our shores or can we just get into a normal fight about the game last night.
Not In the Pub
This is not to say that politics and religion aren’t important, but to be downing a few pints and exchanging views on these delicate matters can very easily get out of hand. How do you think wars are started?
We are social creatures, we work hard to try and sustain somewhat of a decent living but our entertainment time should be wisely invested in the sound principal of a pint and a shot.
Leave the entire governmental, political and religious gander for a time in which it matters to ponder these subjects.
Pub time is our natural way of defusing our brain from the toils of this world, and no matter how hard we try or converse – the oil companies and all their counter parts are still going to keep using the HPHT drilling method in order to produce our pint and a shot.
The point being – we work hard enough to support our families and ourselves. We pay half of what we make to the government; the rest to bankers and landlords so give us a break!
A pint and a shot!
